Metro .... CONFISCATED
.. with an accusation of disturbing the moral!!!-
Unfortunately the police forces have confiscated all the published books of Metro, moreover they obliged the publisher`s officials to don't print any more issues and to deliver the remaining books to the police department.
They also warned the bookstores to don't mention any "knowledge" of the novel and to erase its info on their laptops.
The publisher himself is detained and imprisoned.
Why people shouldn't have the chance to read what they want?! It's unbelieveble, especially because controversial novels such as "Emarat Ya'coubiyan" (Yacoubian building) of Ala' Al Aswani (published in 2002) passed the censorship and has been translated in more than 17 languages and then in 2006 was also put on the big screen.
I hope that authorities change their position .. Egyptians should have the right to choose which novel they want to read, especially because Metro doesn't disturb any moral .. It just describes what 's going on around us.
